PDF to MP3

PDF to MP3 Converter

Save a spoken version of a supported PDF as an MP3 file. Generate the audio, check it against the document, and download a copy for listening in a compatible audio player.

Before you start

What you need

Prepare a supported PDF within the upload limit shown in Create. Sign in with a verified account and available credits. Conversion depends on extracting readable content from the document.

Convert PDF to MP3

AudioZem can generate MP3 audio from readable PDF text when the document content can be extracted and processed.

PDF audio converter

Select the voice, language, and audio style that fit your document before creating the spoken version.

PDF to speech MP3

Completed PDF to speech MP3 files are available for playback and download while the generation remains in your library.

How to convert a PDF into an MP3 download

  1. Upload the document

Open Create, choose an audio type other than 2-Person Conversation, and select the PDF tab. Choose the document you want to convert. The app checks the PDF before credits are used.

  2. Generate a spoken version

Select the available voice and language settings that fit your document, then generate the audio. If the file cannot be processed, follow the displayed message or try pasting a readable excerpt into text mode.

  3. Download and check your MP3

Play the completed result before saving it. Compare important passages with the original document, then download the MP3 for a compatible audio player. Save it locally before AudioZem's seven-day audio retention period ends.

A PDF excerpt you can also test as text

When you only need a small part of a PDF, copying a clean passage into text mode can be a useful alternative to uploading the whole document.

Workshop notes. The session has three parts. First, define the problem you want to solve. Second, describe a small experiment. Third, write down what you learned from the result. Keep each experiment small enough to review before moving to the next one.

Common questions

Does PDF-to-MP3 preserve the original page layout?

The output is spoken audio, so it does not preserve the visual page layout. Tables, charts, footnotes, and columns may need preparation or review to make sense when heard.

Can I listen offline after downloading?

Yes. Once you have downloaded the completed MP3, play your saved file in a compatible audio player without keeping AudioZem open.

What if my PDF cannot be converted?

Some PDFs cannot be processed successfully. Follow the error shown by the app. If you can copy a readable passage from the document, you can try that passage in text mode instead.

Will my MP3 stay in the library permanently?

No. AudioZem deletes generated jobs and audio after seven days. Download the MP3 before then if you want to keep it.
