Before you start
What you need
Use a PDF you have permission to process, a verified account, and available credits. PDF upload availability and file limits are shown in Create. Some documents cannot be processed.

AudioZem does not guarantee every PDF can be read, but supported documents can become MP3 audio for easier listening.
How to listen to a PDF with AI voices
Choose a PDF with readable content
Open Create and select PDF in an audio type other than 2-Person Conversation. Upload your file within the limit shown by the app. The document is checked before credits are used.
Pick your listening settings
Choose an audio type, voice, and available language options. Begin with a short document when testing a new kind of PDF, particularly one with columns, tables, or scanned pages.
Listen and check the document
When generation completes, compare the audio with the PDF. Check reading order, names, and any passages around tables or diagrams. Download the MP3 if you want a saved listening copy.

If a document's layout is difficult to read aloud, copy a relevant passage into text mode and turn layout-dependent information into sentences, as in this sample.

Common questions
Is this PDF reader a page viewer or an audio tool?
AudioZem's PDF reader is an audio workflow. It attempts to extract supported document content and generate spoken audio. Use your usual PDF viewer when you need to inspect the original page layout.
Will every scanned or complex PDF work?
No. Processing depends on the document and the text that can be extracted. Low-quality scans, unusual layouts, or other document issues can prevent conversion. Follow the error shown by the app if a file cannot be processed.
What should I do if the PDF reading order sounds wrong?
Compare the audio with the source. For a short section, copy the relevant text into text mode, remove repeated headers or page numbers, and arrange the sentences in the order you want spoken.
Can I listen to the PDF away from the screen?
Download the completed MP3 and play the saved file in a compatible player. Generated jobs and audio are deleted from AudioZem after seven days.
